The Imagen Awards were established in 1985 to encourage and recognize the positive portrayal of Latinos in all media and to increase Latino representation at all levels of the entertainment industry.
"Our move to the Walt Disney Concert Hall in collaboration with The Music Center is a very ambitious one. It more than doubles the size of last year's gala and reinforces the bridge between the Latino and entertainment communities," stated Helen Hernandez, Founder of The Imagen Foundation and creator of the pioneering Imagen Awards, which annually draws A-list stars and luminaries from the world of Latino entertainment.
The move became a necessity to accommodate this year's explosion of interest in every area from award submissions and talent involvement to attendance and sponsorship.
Hernandez stated, "The quality and level of our entries reflect the growing creativity and talent that the Latino community brings to the world of entertainment." Click here to read the list of nominees.
Event sponsors include: Disney-ABC, The Neilson Company, CBS, Fox Television Stations, The Hollywood Reporter, Variety, iPressroom and Lear Family Foundation.
