Robert Mendez is senor vice president, Diversity Programs, ABC Television Group.
Mendez oversees all business affairs and legal aspects of Buena Vista Television and Buena Vista Productions. His responsibilities include programs in development and in current production, and legal oversight of distribution matters in the areas of syndication, pay-per-view, pay TV and cable television.
Mendez most recently served as senior vice president, business affairs and legal, for the domestic television division at Paramount Pictures Corporation. He spent 15 years at Paramount, beginning in 1987 as associate director. Mendez previously worked as senior attorney with the National Broadcasting Company, Inc., and from 1980 to 1982 he served as deputy attorney general within the criminal division of the California attorney general’s office.
Mendez received his Bachelor of Arts from Pomona College and his Juris Doctor from University of California – Davis School of Law. He is a past president of the Hispanic National Bar Association and a former board member of the Mexican-American Bar Association in Los Angeles.
