How Local News and Social Media Meet

NBC4 Southern California will lead a discussion about the evolution of broadcast television and the rapidly growing role social and digital media have in creating local news.  Leading reporters and crew members will share their approach to “socializing” local news and the innovative ways to engage audiences in a new news experience, while sharing how broadcast television remains vibrant and relevant.  Speakers will address how they gather, discuss and share news using multimedia platform tools and applying new strategies to navigate within a competitive marketplace
