The Imagen Foundation is proud to present the Powerful and Influential Latinos in Television & Film Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame was created to honor individuals in the entertainment industry who have been selected as one of Imagen’s Powerful & Influential Latinos for more than 5 years and have dedicated themselves to excelling in their profession. These individuals have paved the way for the next generation of Latino entertainment professionals by becoming key figures in their respective fields.

2019 Hall of Fame Inductees

Michael Alicea

As Executive Vice President of Global Human Resources, Michael Alicea is responsible for all Human Resources activities across Nielsen’s Global Connect Business.  This group contains over 30K people and does business in over 100 countries.

Javier Avitia

Javier Avitia is the Executive Vice President, Legal and Business Affairs, CBS Studios International. He reports directly to Armando Nuñez, President & CEO, CBS Global Distribution Group.  CBS Studios International is the leading supplier of programming to the international television marketplace, licensing to more than 200 markets in more than 30 languages across multiple media platforms.

Fabian Castro

Fabian Castro, an award-winning executive with expertise in brand and entertainment marketing, is senior vice president of multicultural marketing at Universal Pictures.  In this capacity, he works closely with media, creative, publicity, digital, and brand marketing teams to develop innovative, nuanced campaigns that reach today’s multicultural movie-going audiences.

Cesar Conde

Cesar Conde is Chairman of NBCUniversal International Group and NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises. As Chairman of NBCUniversal International Group, Conde is responsible for the operations and international expansion of NBCUniversal businesses outside of North America.

Rita Ferro

As president of Advertising Sales for the Walt Disney Company, Rita Ferro leads advertising sales for the Company's entertainment, news, sports and kids linear and digital TV and Radio businesses: ABC Entertainment, Daytime and News; Disney Channels Worldwide; ESPN's domestic Networks and ESPN+; FX Networks and National Geographic Networks.

Rick Frey

Rick Frey currently serves as Executive Creative Director, guiding The CW’s Marketing creative efforts across all platforms including on-air promo, on-air graphics, radio, music, print, events, creative service and special projects. He has served in this position since July of 2013.

Johanna Fuentes

Johanna Fuentes serves as Executive Vice President, Communications, for Showtime Networks Inc. As the chief press officer for SHOWTIME, she is responsible for the strategic planning and execution of all global public and media relations initiatives enhancing the corporate and programming interests for Showtime Networks, Pop TV and Smithsonian Channel™.

Mónica Gil

Mónica Gil is Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President for NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, a world class media company with a fast-growing portfolio of multi- platform media properties. In this role, she serves as the key executive driving the company’s reputation, brand and corporate identity.

Phil Gonzales

Phil Gonzales was named Senior Vice President, Communications, CBS Entertainment in November 2010. Previously, he served as Vice President, Communications since starting at CBS in September 2004.  He reports directly to Chris Ender, Senior Vice President, Communications, CBS.

Belinda Menendez

Belinda Menendez is President & Chief Revenue Officer, Global Distribution and International, NBCUniversal – overseeing global distribution and International Networks affiliate & ad sales. She has more than 20 years of experience in international television distribution, operations and management.

Armando Nuñez

Armando Nuñez is President and Chief Executive Officer for the CBS Global Distribution Group, and Chief Content Licensing Officer for CBS Corporation. He reports to Joe Ianniello, President and Acting Chief Executive Office, CBS Corporation.

Kenny Ortega

Kenny Ortega’s work as a director, choreographer, and producer is known and loved by millions around the world. Some of Ortega’s works throughout his long and illustrious career in film and television include the feature documentary “Michael Jackson’s This Is It”, “Newsies”, “Hocus Pocus”, and Disney Channel’s “High School Musical” franchise, which were the most successful Disney Channel Original Movies to date when they premiered.

Mario Vecchi

As CTO of PBS since 2014, Dr. Vecchi oversees distribution operations and engineering, media management, interconnection engineering, information technology, web and new media applications/systems, as well as technology strategy and planning.
