Honoring Four Decades of Storytelling, Culture and Latino Excellence in Entertainment

LOS ANGELES, CA – JULY 17, 2025The Imagen Foundation today announced the nominees for the 40th annual Imagen Awards, continuing its four-decade tradition of celebrating the power of storytelling, community, and the richness of Latino talent shaping the entertainment industry. This year’s ceremony will take place on Friday, Aug. 22, 2025, at the historic Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills. Red carpet arrivals begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by the awards program at 7 p.m.

“We’re proud to shine a spotlight on the extraordinary contributions of Latino artists, creators, and visionaries who continue to break barriers and redefine Hollywood,” said Helen Hernandez, president of the Imagen Foundation. “At a time when Latino voices are still too often left out of the spotlight, Imagen remains fiercely committed to honoring the work that moves culture forward.”

This year’s awards drew more than 300 submissions across 27 categories, recognizing dynamic performances and innovative storytelling in television, film, and streaming. Among the leading nominated projects are Acapulco (Apple TV+; Lionsgate Television / 3Pas Studios / The Tannenbaum Company for Apple) and Andor (Disney+ and Lucasfilm).

Streaming giants Apple TV+, Disney+, and Netflix led the nominee list, underscoring the growing demand for inclusive and authentic Latino storytelling. As the Imagen Foundation celebrates its 40th anniversary, the moment also marks a meaningful reflection on its enduring mission. Established in 1985, Imagen has been a home for recognizing Latino talent in entertainment, both in front of and behind the camera, and continues to celebrate legacy, visibility and the promise of what’s still to come for Latinos in Hollywood.

The Imagen Awards program (pronounced ee-mah-hen) At the suggestion of veteran television producer Norman Lear to encourage the accurate and meaningful portrayals of Latinos in media helped form the Imagen Foundation.
